Iranians for Palestine UK say No to war on Iran

28 Feb 2026. Iranians for Palestine UK.  Hours after the start of the attack on Iran by Israel and the USA, protesters in Parliament Square condemned this blatant violation of international law, calling on the UK government do the same and refuse any use of British bases or intelligence. Iran had agreed to irreversibly convert its enriched uranium into fuel and allow verification by the IAEA. There was no imminent threat and the US had clearly only been delaying its attack to build up its forces in the area.

These are fervent opponents to the Iranian government and its repression and equally firm against genocide in Gaza and the murderous attacks on the Iranian people. “We have opposed the Islamic Republic and supported the brave Iranian protesters who have filled Iran’s streets demanding freedom for many decades and more recently in January 2026. But bombs do not bring democracy. Bombs silence people.” Theirs is an important voice that needs to be heard above those of the warmongers from the USA and Israel and those too scared to oppose them. We acknowledge Spain for refusing to allow the USA to use its bases for bombing Iran.  Starmer has managed to irritate Trump but will now allow British bases to be used for “defensive” actions, which seems to mean whatever he wants it to mean
