Trump is coming – what will he inherit and what will he do?
JVL Introduction
The second Trump era will shortly be upon us; a Trump backed by $277 MILLION of money from Musk (presumably tax deductible?). There are huge concerns about the normalisation of Israel’s ethnic cleansing under his regime, and, of course, there are many other concerns: his blaming the Democrats and not climate change for the terrifyingly destructive fires in California. (BBC verify provides a useful rebuttal on this and more) ; his appalling pronouncements on migrants and refugees and his overall contempt for the poor, for all his talk about being there for the working man, his record shows that in his first term he cut benefits and tried to raise rents for the poorest and most vulnerable. The environment is not safe in his hands.
But the problems the US and the world face did not begin with Trump and, if we look back just at 2024 “It was the Democrat President Joe Biden who gave the green light to Israeli genocide and who provided both the money and arms for it, along with the wider attack on the region, including the West Bank, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Iran and Yemen”
