The environment is just one reason to resist billionaires’ power
JVL Introduction
Focusing mainly on climate change, this article makes the clear case for removing power from the extremely wealthy. A global corporations have more power than most countries, something has to change if human life on this planet is to be sustainable.
We cannot continue to survive let alone thrive while the wealthiest use their wealth not only to keep that wealth but to influence policy. Musk is only the latest example. Wealth based on fossil fuel extraction is only one of the pernicious examples that makes it hard to understand these sorts of capitalists who ought, surely, care about their own descendants even if they do not care about the rest of us. But no, the machinery of profiteering and keeping the profits and the wealth continues with government backing. Resistance is essential.
