Settler attacks leads everyone to leave Yanoun – again!

Yanoun is a village in the northern West Bank, c. 12 kms from the town of Nablus. Settler violence has been a constant presence for many years and, since early 2003, there has been an international presence in the village, following the last time everyone was forced to leave.
This is from a blog post from 2012. When the villagers left before, the settlers had come “with dogs and guns, every Saturday night. They beat men in front of their children. One Saturday they said they didn’t want to see anyone here next Saturday and that we should move to Aqraba. The whole village left that week.” It was the first time since 1967 and the Six Day War that the entire population of a Palestinian village was forced to leave.
Despite 23 years of support, it has once again become impossible to stay, and so on Christmas Eve 2024, the last villagers have once again left and this time, given the intensification of attacks, increased impunity for the attackers and the actions of this government, it may be for good. Israeli activist group Machsom Watch were clear that Settlers from Itamar expelled the few remaining Yanun residents.

This is how Israeli settlers, backed by the military, erased a Palestinian village from existence last week
The last family in the Palestinian village of Yanoun left their home last week, joining a growing list of communities that have been erased from existence through the establishment of Israeli “shepherding outposts” in their place.

The land is already-settled. Ethnic cleansing, genocidal, ZionNazi terrorists are not “settlers”.
This is shear ethnic cleansing of a most blatant and brutal category, effectively an attempt of genocidal erasure. There has been no condemnation by the UK government or any proposal to stop this illegal takeover of the West Bank. ICJ ruling of July 2024 states that the world must act to stop the unlawful occupation, yet is being allowed to carry on in continual terror and frenzy by the settlers back by the State.
There is much that the UK can do to stop this. Sanctions on Israel and a total arms embargo and a prescribing of Israel as a clearly terror genocidal entity. Yet the UK continues its arming of Israel and its trade links and at the same time silencing and arresting protesters and silencing and prescribing them.
It is time to get the IHRA definition revoked, as Israel is blatantly carrying out all the items in the clauses that claim to be be antisemitic if anyone accuses Israel of doing them. The actions of the settlers and the state are clearly racist and part of the Zionist agenda, which should raise the questions of legitimacy of a state that breaches every item of the UN Charter, every UN resolution against it, every war crime in the book, and every crime against humanity. Taken collectively Israel seems to blatantly delegitimising itself.
The atrocities in the West Bank has been relentless for many decades but after Oct 7, the Settlers have taken advantage. We’ve seen bulldozers destroying homes, breaking up miles of the sewage system, forcing families out of their homes, many of them murdered for trying to stop them, always backed by the IDF.
Yet I cannot remember any of the MSM, including the BBC, showing or writing about any of these crimes. It’s as if the West Bank doesn’t exist.
