Settlement Expansion: under the radar but in plain sight

There are now as many Jewish Israelis living in the West Bank and East Jerusalem as Palestinians ethnically cleansed from Palestine during the 1947-49 Nakba. Israel continues to increase the number of settlements, the number of homes on each settlement and to recognise more and more of the outposts in the West Bank. All settlements in occupied territory are illegal under International Law and the outposts are illegal even under Israeli laws.
It seems that on April 1st, “Israel’s cabinet has quietly approved the construction of 34 new illegal settlements across the occupied West Bank, according to an April 9 report by i24 News, in what the Israeli outlet described as “the largest single approval of outposts in one step.”
This is hardly unexpected and Jewish only settlements taking up more and more land, including “security zones” around them means there is no chance of a Palestinian State and that the IDF’s priority is “protecting settlers”, more and more Palestinians will be pushed from their land and forced into smaller and smaller urban enclaves. The aim has long been maximum land and minimum Palestinians.

Illegal colonies should not be described as “settlements” and the Zionist policy is one of ethnic cleansing and illegal colonisation. Can we please say so?
Israel is just doing what they like, in plain sight, as no one is stopping them. While Palestinians are driven from their homes, at gunpoint, and their homes demolished in front of their eyes, the world watches. It is pathetic and apart from a few countries who have the courage to speak out, no one is saying ‘STOP’ or doing anything to stop the Israeli soldiers. It is heartbreaking.
