Parachute Luke

JVL Introduction

We repost here Paddy French’s own introduction to the article below:

In September 2022 two Labour activists were elected to the party’s governing body, the National Executive Council.

One was Luke Akehurst, the pro-Israel director of the right wing We Believe In Israel group which supports Keir Starmer.

The other was Naomi Wimborne-Idrissi, media officer of the pro-Palestinian Jewish Voice for Labour and a former Reuters journalist.

  • This excellent in-depth article really says it all.

I voted for Naomi at the time. I was disgusted by the trickery used to thwart a supposedly democratic internal process.

I have since left the changed for the worse Labour Party. It has repeatedly shown itself to be unfit for government and ultimately potentially disastrous for our country and world.

  • Luke Akehurst got up to all kinds of misdemeanours years ago while he was election agent in Holborn and St Pancras . It is a mystery how he has continued to rise. The Widmerpool example, perhaps? Or perhaps just secret funders and not-so-secret backers. Certainly nothing to do with ability, but then as I’ve said many times Keir Starmer doesn’t like to have people of ability around him. Akehurst got the lowest vote of any candidate in NEC elections at one time, and has failed many public votes too.
