Old(er) Jewish activists refuse to be complicit
JVL Introduction
We are delighted to see this piece in the New Arab focusing on older Jewish people who have stood up for the rights of Palestinians for many years. Several JVL members are pictured (and some interviewed) here. Most will have experienced antisemitism first hand or through their parents, It is not possible to stand by while horrors are being perpetrated by Israel, not only but in part because it claims to act in our name.
This makes fascinating reading and complements JVL’s Jewish Journeys from Zionism series. .

What wonderful people you have highlighted here. As a member of the Labour Party for 56 years I have met some great human beings but these comrades really are the very best.
Thank you but full credit to the excellent “New Arab” for this piece. Well worth subscribing to and we have often used their articles.
Thank you for these personal words, they give a human depth to the Jewish people I see in the marching crowds for the right of Palestinians to also live as human beings.
Thank you so much Stephen, Diana, Haim and the NL Peaceniks (soon to be renamed Peacenkiks UK, I heard today on the march). Thanks greatly too to The New Arab, because the quality of an interviewer and audience deeply affects the quality of what is said, as many of us will have experienced. I’m now going to share these voices right away!.
Dave Rich of the Community Security Trust has identified older anti-Zionist Jews as a big problem to his cause, rather letting the cat out of the bag. It also explains why such Jews have been primary targets for Starmer’s Labour.
In this seminar, Ivor Gaber asks why a lot of people fighting the antisemitism smear are Jewish. Rich in a rambling reply gets to the point that such Jews have no traction with the mainstream Jewish community but they do with the left and a lot of the ‘energy behind antisemitic politics in Labour’ comes from these Jewish activists… who also obstructed building bridges with the BoD etc!

I would love to see these wonderful testimonies including the journeys from Zionism published in a book the proceeds could go to helping the Palestinians.
Great idea form Chris to publish these testimonies.BTW apologies for the typo in my earlier praise of the Peaceniks UK!
