We need to protect Jews FROM Trump

It does not take much to be declared by Trump that you are not really Jewish. Even being a supporter of Israel’s genocide may not be enough! The impact on people’s rights is enormous and the impact on any serious fight against antisemitism is simply to set things back generations.
And, of course, it is not only in the USA. We have noted previously that Germany’s network of (overwhelmingly) non Jewish antisemitism Tsars are also deciding who is or is not the right sort of Jew. In this country, following the appalling experience in the Labour Party, despite there being zero evidence that the BBC is biased against Israel, we now have the Board of Deputies (of British Jews) issuing an ultimatum that the BBC has until Passover to make a number of changes and commitments to how it reports the war in Gaza; ie so that it is done the way that they (and the Jewish Chronicle et al) believe it should be presented. So, as one commentator put it, not allowing the BBC to report on liberation by the time the Festival of Liberation occurs?
It is staggering that the Jewish Establishment in most countries cannot see the inherent dangers is this total conflation of Jews with the actions of the Israeli State and the genocidal utterances of its leaders.

The present situation is far more terrifying than the time of Macarthyism: we now have the weaponisation of anti-semitism on top of the threat of climate collapse and a third world war.
Very powerful and well argued
For a non-Jewish person, this issue is both confusing and scary. How does a Jew prove what they are? And by what right do non-Jews decide who is Jewish and who isn’t?
Some time after I had decided to add my voice to those of the growing number of Jews who are speaking out against the Israeli destruction of Palestine and the genocide of the Palestinian people, I began to get messages from Zionist Jews, and they were not nice. But as I persisted, the messages changed from not nice to outright nasty, and then vicious. In all the hundreds of communications I had, I was able to have a reasonable exchange, courteous, albeit fruitless, with just one Israeli Zionist. The rest were just the usual Hasbara, name-calling, gaslighting and all. But I did not realise just how very twisted the whole debate had become till I got the message: ‘You are not a Jew just because you are born of a Jewish vagina’. At that point I realised that there is no debating with certain of these people. They express themselves in disgusting terms because they are themselves disgusting. That the fascist Trump has now become one of this number does not surprise me at all.
