(More) Jews say NO to ethnic cleansing
JVL Introduction
To witness Netanyahu smiling smugly as Trump talked about ethnic cleansing of Gaza was excruciating but unsurprising. Many Jews in the US made their objections clear with an advert in the New York Times (full list of signatories here.)
Below this short piece from Skwawkbox is another from the organisers; both sections have suggestions for actions. While this is clearly focused on the USA and Starmer has said that Gazans must be allowed to return home, the reality is that the UK government has effectively been supporting the genocide not least by continuing to issue 92% of the arms licences that were operating before October 7th 2023.
This NYT advert is one of many examples of Jews opposing what Israel is doing to the people and places of Gaza and we will keep speaking out for as long as necessary.

There were probably more Jewish Block marches on London today than signed this petition…
I am sure there were. What I can say with certainty is that there were more Jews marching against genocide and ethnic cleansing than there were in the genocide supporting Zionists in the derisory counter-demo at the entrance to Vauxhall Bridge
Never heard of Ilana Glazer.
I HAVE heard of Jonathan Glazer, film director of The Zone of Interest, who also signed the NYT ad but is not deemed as worthy of a mention by Skwawkbox (who, in his ignorance, is probably just regurgitating a press release), a film of way more lasting cultural impact than anything by a here-today-gone-tomorrow stand-up comedian.
Starmer’s recent remarks did NOT oppose the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians in Gaza: he simply (?!) called for a two-state solution without any allusion as to where it was to be situated….was he thinking of Jordan? Egypt? Uganda? Madagascar? or was he thinking at all, or merely intoning a formula to avoid active thought about the future?
