Labour is desperate to trade with Israel even as Gaza and the West Bank are being destroyed. its people murdered, injured and displaced and not even when the International Court of Justice has called for governments to stop trading with Israel or be considered complicit in the illegal occupation of Palestine. The ICJ announcement means that it is the duty of governments to boycott, divest and sanction Israel. The “New New Labour” government, ostensibly led by a Human Rights lawyer seems intent on ignoring that ruling and focusing on trade deals instead even though UK ministers and civil servants could be held liable for Israeli war crimes
Amongst many other words that could be used perhaps hypocrisy is the major one for the government has no intention to revive trade relations with Russia while it is attacking Ukraine.

What is their algorithm for accepting donations? How many pennies into a politicians campaign funds per life taken? What degree of blind fealty is required to achieve some guarantee of never being smeared? And how much smearing must one perform to achieve what guarantee of never being smeared?

Apologies for replying too often but a) no one but a handful of people in our party or in this country can possibly be aware of what’s happening in Gaza for these decisons to be accepted like this, and b) changing this needs action across the party, both to inform and to protest.

Many of us in Camden have been working for months to get our council to disclose and divest. I myself am due to meet a relevant councillor this week. What hope can we have, when the government is specifically encouraging these filthy deals with Israel?
I wonder where this leaves our new Attorney General, who hasn’t been heard of since the appointment was made? Unlike the new Solicitor General Sarah Sackman, who has a past record of specifically opposing Palestinian statehood.

Poisoning the Ukrainians with depleted uranium weapons is a very curious way of showing support.
I wonder if it is at all possible for a citizen or a group of citizens to take out a case against the government ministers and officials that have on the face of it made themselves complicit in war crimes and genocide?
