Extremists(?) at a Congress against Anti-Zionism

JVL Introduction

The first ever Congress against Anti-Zionism took place in Toronto with Islamophobia on full display and early on the anti-Zionist Jew was called “an “execrable” insect with a parasite-hijacked brain”. Later keynote speaker Ben Shapiro “received huge applause for stating that anti-Zionist Jews who oppose an ethnostate are not real Jews.”

This is shocking but not surprising and despite yet it is those of us who support justice for Palestinians are considered the extremists. While it is unclear whether there was mainstream support for the congress, much reported here is all too familiar to those of us in the movement for Palestinians rights; eg supporting prosecutions for people protesting outside a synagogue promoting sale of property in the West Bank.

Aligned with the Far Right and seem to be somewhat in a panic as they recognise that Zionism is losing in the court of world opinion but they refuse to understand why. Meanwhile Palestinians will continue to suffer, something dismissed by the congress.
