Hanging Palestinians is Israel’s “logical” next step
JVL Introduction
Where is the outcry at Israel’s determination to hang Palestinians they find guilty? This is a further and deeply troubling example of their apartheid justice system that has already passed its first reading. This article, written by a Palestinian journalist kidnapped and tortured long before October 2023 argues:
“That we got to this point is hardly surprising. For decades, the international community has neglected the fate of Palestinian prisoners. In the past two and a half years, there has been almost no global reaction to the mass brutalisation of Palestinians held in Israeli jails with or without charges. Israeli efforts to legalise executions of Palestinian is the logical next step in eliminating the Palestinian question.”
There is absolutely no shame from the Israeli government about this brutalisation as these two short videos shot in Israeli jails show. Here (3-4 months ago) Ben Gvir calls for ‘death penalty for terrorist’ and in the second, (from 11th February 2026) he is proudly showing journalists the inhumane and degrading treatment routinely meted out to Palestinians. It is also important to remember that about one third of Palestinians who are subject to these conditions are held under administrative detention, ie without due process, charge or a time limit for their incarceration. For those who have gone through some sort of process in the military courts, the conviction rate is 99.74% (This was the figure reported in 2011, long before October 2023)
It is long past time when sanctions should have been introduced but they are becoming more essential by the day.

Israel wants to execute Palestinians, and the world will allow it
A bill legalising the execution of Palestinians is being pushed through the Knesset. International indifference paved the way for it.
