It was difficult to imagine, in the immediate aftermath of the Hamas-led October 7 attacks, the utter scale of genocidal devastation that Israel would unleash on Gaza, and the extent of the world’s failure to intervene for two years. What was already painfully clear, though, was that the status quo that had preceded the attacks … Continued

The levels of settler violence has escalated almost beyond measure and well beyond bearable. On day 1 of the 2025 Olive harvest, Palestinians and Israeli and international volunteers were attacked (the latter two groups sometimes excluded from a speedily declared “closed military zone”. Despite the millions of dollars donated by billionaires and he scaremongering (not least by the Jewish Establishment) to try to defeat him, Mamdani won with just over 50% of the vote. Amongst those who voted for him and were excited by his victory were 33% of the Jews who live in New York City and over 60% of younger Jews. This shows many things including that more and more Jews (as we know) will not only not be put off by a candidate who advocates for Palestine but see that as a key and positive part of his stance.

The right has always been obsessed with the “loyalty” question. Think McCarthyism. Before Gaza, MAGA— following Trump — fixated on what it saw as the disloyalty of … Continued
Over the last two days, Israeli politicians have been competing over who can voice deeper shock at Zohran Mamdani’s election as mayor of New York City, and who can more forcefully warn the city’s Jews of a wave of antisemitism and hate crimes. “Antisemitism defeated common sense,” National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said. Diaspora Affairs … Continued
