A colonial continuation plan for Gaza

UK complicity in Gaza and the myth of “British democracy”

UK governments complicity with Israel has a long history that the horrors of Gaza are exposing but not shifting.  Not only is the UK still selling arms to Israel, still conducting surveillance from a base in Cyprus, it is restricting our civil liberties and will not even put a ban on trade with Israeli settlements that both Labour and Tory governments are clear are illegal. The government has welcomed the Israeli President and banned Palestine Action and continues to support Israel as much as it can while continuing to condemn and sanction Russia for its actions in Ukraine. 

The West Bank is firmly in Israel’s sights

On the West Bank the “ceasefire” has merely heralded renewed violence and ethnic cleansing.

“Renewed” is really a misnomer: as the war on Gaza was dragged out interminably violence on the West Bank never ceased.

Archbishop of York speaks about what he saw in Palestine

The Archbishop of York spent time in the West Bank and East Jerusalem and in a wide ranging speech republished here, he outlines some of what he witness and learned.  He refers to many issues, and is careful with the language used predicting that this will be met with criticism and it took just hours for the Chief Rabbi to condemn what was said, We think it is a thoughtful and compassionate speech and that the Archbishop is clear this is about the actions of the State and not the Jewish people.
