A colonial continuation plan for Gaza
JVL Introduction
The UN vote to support Trump’s Peace Plan means that, at least, the immediate future for Gaza will be in the hands of the US and Israel with Tony Blair most probably given a role. As Cook says in this article, “Satire cannot do justice to this moment”.
International law has been ignored and will continue to be ignored. Israel has broken the “ceasefire” in so many ways and continues to occupy 58% of the Gaza Strip with all but its cronies squeezed into the remaining 42% with no plans for rebuilding. It is a travesty. A new force is supposed to be created to disarm Hamas and yet there is no talk of disarming Israel. Who will do that, perhaps the gangs that Israel has been nurturing?
There is much here to be aware of and much to be angry about. Above all that this will prolong the agony for Palestinians in Gaza while also offering no hope for people in the West Bank. Embedded below are two videos on the vote and on wider complicity which we commend.

Trump is turning Gaza into a brutal colonial protection racket
Trump’s ‘peace plan’ will never be meaningfully realised – and was never intended to be. It is simply a way to justify prolonging Gaza’s living hell
