Antisemitism on the left gets attention while on the right…?

Attention to the deeply embedded antisemitism on the right, in the US and elsewhere, pales into insignificance when compared with its claimed omnipresence on the left.
Jewish communal legacy organisations give uncritical support to Israel as “the Jewish state”, justify its genocide in Gaza as self-defence and then condemn as antisemitic and demand the cancellation and deplatforming of people who are simply opposed to Israel’s actions and/or to the ideology of Zionism.

It is dangerous for everyone, and particularly dangerous for Jews…

The Guardian condemns Israel’s death penalty law

This Guardian editorial on Israel’s death penalty law, just adopted by the Knesset, is uncompromising in its condemnation.

It is an important statement exposing yet again the barbarities and sheer racism of the law.

And, almost as an aside, the Guardian writes: ” It is bizarre for allies to keep speaking of shared values, but they failed to take substantive action over the annihilation in Gaza…”

Pushing Palestinians out to Paraguay

BBC whitewash in support of Josh Simons

Paul Holden is the author of The Fraud, a magisterial study of Keir Starmer’s rise to power and the underhand role of Labour Together, dark money and political deceit in orchestrating it.

On 28th March BBC Newscast published a lengthy interview with Josh Simons about how he as a director of @LabourTogether, had appointed a firm called APCO Worldwide to investigate Holden and his colleagues.

At no point was Holden asked to comment about it…

Has the Iron Dome reduced Israelis’ fear of war?

Israelis have become used to war (or self-defence as they may term it). As the perpetrators, for many decades Israelis have had limited experience of death and destruction – certainly compared to people in Palestine, Lebanon and Iran, to take just the obvious, current examples. Here the writer argues that the Iron Dome with its ability to – much more often than not – intercept missiles directed towards Israel before they land, has reduced the fear of war, which leaves the way open for permanent war. This is something Netanyahu and other Israeli political leaders have advocated for many years and many of us question their interest in, let alone a commitment to, peace.

March 30th 2026 is the 50th anniversary of Palestine Land Day. Land is central to the Palestinians’ struggle for justice; from day one Israel had taken over land owned by Palestinians without compensation, let alone agreement. The reality has been ethnic cleansing by Israel to make real the slogan of a “land without (Palestinian) people for the (Jewish) people without a land”.

There are not enough Israelis coming forward to fight in their State’s forever wars. Not only has Netanyahu failed to conscript those from strictly orthodox communities but more generally there is a growing number of soldiers refusing to serve in Netanyahu’s war on Gaza and now there is Iran and further deep and terrible incursions into Lebanon as well as the rising needs in the West Bank as settler violence increases while Israeli authorises more and more outposts. Trump said he wanted to end wars but he is totally committed to prioritising the interests of the Corporate class, which is why he is trying so hard to mollify the markets as his dangerous and deadly gamble is crumbling. Despite his promises to wars, he is using “might is right” tactics and rhetoric and not even succeeding and that ghastly level.
