Amnesty’s new report leaves no doubt that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. Its findings are based on detailed reports of Israel’s actions in Gaza, over 200 interviews and careful review of statements made by leading Israeli politicians and soldiers. It set this evidence against the 1948 Genocide Convention prohibited acts and in particular: “killing members of the group”; “causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group”; and “deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part”.
The conclusions are damning and the UK must cease aiding and abetting genocide.
