The standfirst says it all: “The rule is clear and simple: Americans don’t much care when Israel harms Palestinians, but they do not allow Israel to endanger their regional or global interests or to dictate U.S. policy in the Middle East.”
Aluf Benn’s article is informative about times in the past when the US has drawn a line in the sand and made Israel do something it did not want to do.
It also hints at battles to come as pressures in the US build up to reduce the blank cheque which Israel has been handed ever since 1967.
We can but hope!
