But only so long as they continue to pay for it!
That didn’t worry the Jews who gathered for an orgy of self-congratulation and adoration of the leader as antisemitic tropes about Jewish money and power were thrown around like confetti.
My favourite: Miriam Adelson thanked by Trump for having given him $250 million and promising the same again when he runs – unconstitutionally – for a third term.
I’m waiting for “our” communal institutions – “our” Board of Deputies of British Jews, “our” Jewish Leadership Council, “our” Community Security Trust, “our” Chief Rabbi – to call out this antisemitic orgy. Not holding my breath…

It is simply horrific how American Zionist Jews are inadvertently feeding the beast of antisemitism.
As a Spaniard and a gentile, I regret the history of antisemitism of my country, the way that Jews were expelled for a country that was their country in late 15thC simply because they were Jews and refuse to convert to Catholicism. Some influent and wealthy Jews converted in order to keep their positions and properties but, then over the Centuries the Inquisition picked on them.
Others, were forced to leave the country of their ancestors because they were proud to be Jews and refused to conform.
The irony is that without the support of the Castilian and Aragon Jews communities, Queen Isabela would have never won the war against her niece. Wealthy Jews donate/ lent with very low interest her the necessary money to sustain the war.
Once again it was Jewish money that financed the war against Granada the last Muslim power in Spain.
Queen Isabela thanked the Jews by ordering them to convert to Catholicism or leave Spain within 6 months after conquering Granada.
I believe that history repeat itself so, American Zionist Jews, should perhaps learn that money didn’t protect the Sephardi Jews, that marrying their daughters with Castilian’s and Aragon’s nobility in exchange for their substantial dowries and donating money to royalty, didn’t protect them.
Hence, millionaire donations to politicians would not protect them in the future either when the beast of antisemitism that they are inadvertently feeding, raises its ugly head.
It just feels like these fatakta putzes are betraying the entire Jewish experience of history and the lessons that most of us have learned from it. They play right into the hands of the militant antisemites and conspiracy theorists, one of whom is certainly Trump. He would turn against the Jewish people in a heartbeat if he ever thought that he was not getting what he wanted from these well-heeled nudniks. Knowing these people care so little for anyone less self-aggrandising than they, and witnessing them demonstrate that lack of concern so brazenly, is frightening.

AIPAC is conspicuously absent. Why is that? They are still ‘the Jewish lobby’ incarnate. And they genuinely see nothing ‘wrong’ in their undue influence on the American body politic.
