British and Israeli hypocrisy over Ukraine – what is Israel doing and why?

JVL Introduction

Moshe Machover condemns Putin’s war on Ukraine and also the hypocrisy of Israel and the West.  As always it is the people on all sides who are the victims and the selective support will not bring us closer to peace. Machover also points out that Israel has its own reasons for not condemning Russia under Putin, despite its close association with the US.

Machover outlines Israel’s hypocrisy on refugees – and, of course, we must also stand against the hypocrisy of the British (and other) governments that seem to forget that “refugees are refugees” and that prefer to create “good and bad” categories and yet have been very slow and restrictive in their response to Ukrainian refugees even before the enactment of the heinous Nationality and Borders Bill currently before the UK Parliament.

  • Yes indeed. The stench of hypocrisy is all round.

I am also trying to figure out why, if it now accepted that bombing civilians, hospitals and killing children is wrong – which of course it is – that a dozens of us are on bail for trying to stop Elbit Systems producing drones and other lethal ordinance for the purposes of Israel and Saudi Arabia bombing civilians, hospitals and killing children.

Or are non-European civilians and children an exception under international law?

The continued prosecution of Palestine Action activists and the continued harassment by the Police, raiding homes, seizing phones, computers and passports should cease immediately.

Or is there something I don’t understand?

  • I agree with Tony Greenstein’s comments.
I’ll only add, it’s like 2 groups of gangsters, that are, would be enemies coming together when they can both profit from the same crime.
