The terrible trap of “Antizionism = antisemitism” affects us all
JVL Introduction
The two awful, murderous attacks in the USA in Washington DC and Boulder, Colorado have again been labelled as antisemitic but, “(a)s troubling as these attacks are, neither the shooter in DC nor the assailant in Colorado yelled any obviously antisemitic slogans when they attacked; both chanted “Free Palestine.” Nor is there any evidence that they held classical antisemitic views, like blaming a Jewish cabal for government policies or seeing Jews as especially greedy or mendacious. The DC shooter’s manifesto doesn’t contain the word Jew or Jewish or even Zionist.”
This is a classic case of conflating Judaism and Zionism and anti Zionism with antisemitism. As we have argued far too often, this is dangerous. This and other points are fulsomely addressed in this thought provoking piece.

Yep, it’s really quite simple. Protesters are decent folk who care about injustice, murder, and ‘shooting fish in a barrel’. Also angered by the blatant, sneering lies emanating when any Israeli leader opens their mouth. The contempt they have for every other nations’ leaders is so galling that surely thin-skinned Trump will turn against Yahu soon. Why should any other nation keep supplying killing devices when taken so much for granted. Change is coming!
