The Oscars: false antisemitism allegations through distortion

Jonathan Glazer has become the latest victim of false allegations of antisemitism and, of course, being a self-hating Jew because of what he was accused of saying in his Oscar acceptance speech.
This was by completely misrepresenting what he said and perhaps Michael Rosen’s summary on Facebook is most apt:
“In case people wonder or care, the post-Oscars furore about what Mr Glazer said or didn’t say, turns on whether people accept or understand or notice the use of a participial phrase – in this case the participle in the phrase being the word ‘being’. Thus, if I say, a) ‘I hate my mother’, it has a different meaning from b) ‘I hate my mother being insulted.’ “

Perhaps more worrying for Israel’s apologists than what was said (or said to have been said) was the applause. The plethora of false allegations since October 7th is part of an attempt to focus attention away from the Israel’s killing and wounding of at least 100,000 people and the near total destruction for over 2 million Palestinians in Gaza and the genocidal language used by several Israeli leaders, to say nothing of the ongoing attacks, displacement and demolitions in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

Oscars speech smear campaign shows lying for Israel is a good career move
Film director Jonathan Glazer’s acceptance speech went viral. But Jewish community leaders know there will be no professional damage for misrepresenting his words.

Telling the truth is what matters. Glazer did that and is respected for it. He did not betray his Jewishness.
It seems that Glazer is in fact a genuine Jew who does know what the Holocaust meant & that “ NEVER AGAIN” meant never again against any human of any race, religion or colour ANYWHERE!
Respect to him for speaking up for TRUTH!
