Palestinian Christians’ words are tough and true
JVL Introduction
These are perhaps the strongest words and call to action from Kairos Palestine, which is the largest ecumenical organisation in Palestine committed to non violence. 140 Palestinians and 160 internationals gathered in November 2025 to consider what faith meant, what Christianity meant in the face of genocide in Gaza and deepening apartheid and ethnic cleansing in the West Bank.
It pulls no punches about 77 years of living with the reality of the ideology of Zionism and its manifestation as a continuation of settler colonialism. It explicitly calls out Christian Zionism and argues for ending dialogue with them.
They call out the complicity and hypocrisy of the West and the document includes these words: “Exposed today,” the document states, “is the true face of Zionist ideology: a system that over decades has entrenched an organized and sophisticated regime of apartheid supported by advanced technologies that exercise total control over every aspect of Palestinian life—fragmenting the land, dividing its people, and turning Palestinian existence into an unbearable hell.”
They describe the reality for Palestinians across historic Palestine and calls “for a comprehensive national reevaluation of our reality to draw lessons and insights leading to a unified, collective vision and a clear strategy for future action… within a legitimate representative framework” and warns “against giving our national struggle a religious character or turning it into a religious issue that pits religions against one another.”

A hugely reassuring document, one that brings moral authority to an issue in which morality appears to be under seige.
It seems fairly typical that, while Trump is bombing Nigeria because of supposed massacres of Christians, in Palestine, where Christians actually are being massacred, he is still supplying arms to the killers.
Christians have never been reluctant to use lethal means to promote their religion. American Christians seem equally happy to do so to promote a different religion.
