Labour’s austerity blunders are clear
JVL Introduction
The Labour government has no answers to the problems people – especially poorer people – are facing in Britain. This winter fuel bills are rising by 10%, but Labour is not even offering the cost of living support that the Tories provided for those on the lowest incomes last year. They are committed to further cuts in the public sector, most likely to fall on local authorities and criminal justice. There is nothing left for local authorities to cut, many of which have already gone bankrupt or are at risk of doing so. This will be on the heels of nearly two decades of austerity; two years under Labour because of the “need “to save the banks in 2008 and 14 years of austerity on steroids under the Tories. What is needed is serious investment in our infrastructure, our education, our health and our communities. This is not on the cards and the poorest will pay the heaviest price just as much as under the Tories.
Chakrabortty argues that “the blunders are on the board, ready to be made” and he lays out some of those blunders in this article.

If Starmer and Reeves think they have a foolproof strategy – wait until winter comes
When the bills hit the mat and taxes go up, Labour’s talk of ‘short-term pain’ will feel intolerable to poor households

They are not Austerity blunders, they are policies that Starmer and the PLP Rightwing MPs want, they seriousply believe in more Austerity.
If they were true Socialists they wouldn’t be supporting Starmer and his Rightwing policies. The silly excuses they are making for these policies should be challenged. Millions of Pensioners that are just above the Benefit threshold are going to suffer this winter, especially with Energy and Water prices rising above inflation. While at the same time, the wealthy will be better off, simply because Starmer refuses to Tax them more fairly, with thousands dying prematurely due to the destruction and privatisation of Our NHS. Pensioners will be at greater risk of dying prematurely due to Starmer’s and Reeve’s policy of cutting the Winter Fuel Allowance.
This Starmer government his already a disgrace, even before it took office. The robotic pair of Starmer and Reeves were revealed ages ago, and Streamer especially by Oliver Eagleton in “The Starmer Project”, where he showed how he was totally welded to the Security State, and utterly beholden to the US and its security apparatus. He is completely amoral and rigid as his expressionless face shows, and the two of them are passionless and void of compassion. Even in a way worse than Thatcher. They are even to the right of Tony Blair. What is needed is a mass deflection of Labour MPs to Corbyn’s Independent coalition, and a solid mass to challenge Starmer at every move. A quiet revolution to install real socialist policies to derail this ghastly government of autocrats. It refusal too, to end the Gaza war is also chilling.
