Holocaust survivor and judge recommends arrest warrants for Israeli and Hamas leaders

JVL Introduction

It is not widely appreciated that one of the judges, called upon by ICC prosecutor Karim Khan to advise on the evidence of possible war crimes, is a Jewish Holocaust survivor.

Judge Theodor Meron, born in 1930, spent much of his youth in ghettoes and workcamps.

Emigrating to Palestine he became a legal adviser of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs till he emigrated in 1977 to the US.

It has recently emerged that in 1967 and 1968 he secretly advised the Israeli government that the construction of Israeli settlements in the occupied territories was illegal, and that the demolition of Arab houses would be considered a form of unlawful collective punishment. He was of course ignored.

In an extraordinary career he reached the highest levels of his profession receiving many awards and honours, his work helping to build the legal foundations for International Criminal Tribunals.

Judge Meron concurred with the rest of the advisers whose unanimous findings are the basis for ICC prosecutor Karim Khan’s request for arrest warrants against Hamas and Israeli leaders.

  • What a Brilliant read And what a story that man Theodor Meron has to tell of his 94 years ONLY 9 when he left school and immediately spent his time in Ghettos and Work camps
Such a knowledge man who you can see has worked hard early on in his life to get to were he is today When a man like this who has gained so much knowledge not just in universities and other places of learning But in the University of life the greatest place to learn more and more each day through places you see and people you meet. Not to mention the experience gained in jobs he done A Good Man like this needs to be respected and listened to and also go to for advice To loose most of his family in the HOLOCAUST was bad enough But to go on and achive what he has is something he must be proud of and to still be active at 94 years of age and still using that knowledge to advise people and answer their questions is a fantastic achievement May you carry on Sir for a lot more years yet
    Total Respect to you

  • Hamas.. one act of RETALIATION where most of the atrocities blamed on them have been discredited as FAKE By numerous Independent sources.. are were calling fighting back a war crime now?.. bad news for Ukraine if that’s the case.. Oct7th was just recently described by renowned Jew John Mearscheim as “a prison break “.. it seems its still the policy to whitewash Israel.. it didn’t all start on oct7th with Netanyahu, its been 76 years of successive Israeli leaders AND politicians AND the Israelis Committing heinous acts of violence against Palestinians in OCCUPIED Palestine.. yet we’re including Palestinian Resistance Fighters in the warrants for war crimes?

  • But the ICC’s judgement seems to assume that 1. history began on 7/10/2023 and 2. the West Bank is irrelevant.
The requests for arrest warrants name three Palestinians and two Israelis, while also accusing Hamas of a greater number of crimes.
    Are Khan’s advisers truly objective?
