Danger looms for Israel

JVL Introduction

Amos Harel, a mainstream commentator for Haaretz,  sees dangers looming for Israel abroad, and  a government at war with itself at home, losing control of the army and falling apart rapidly.

A new, seditious video has just been released, allegedly filmed by army reservists who are in open revolt, saying they will refuse to leave Gaza if the government concedes power  to any Palestinian authority after the war.

This is not new, affirms Harel: “The General Staff lost control over the units, especially reserve units, months ago. In Gaza, in the West Bank and in bases in Israel, soldiers record themselves destroying Palestinian property and civilian infrastructure, blowing up homes without permission and spreading political messages identified with the far right…”

He depicts a government rotting from within, bribery and corruption to secure influence now widespread.

Harel makes no predictions for the future…

  • When the basic ruling Zionist ideology (and it’s fundamentalists apologetics) during the last hundred plus years, had consistently, unreservedly and fanatically proclaimed, that the only legitimate objective of the settler colonial project in Palestine, is to establish a mono-ethnic “Jewish” state on the territory of the autochthonous Palestinians, one does convict oneself to be perceived worldwide, as terminal sufferers from total hypocrisy – and consequentially, total untrustworthiness, so total delegitimization – the moment the very same Zionist preachers do all of a sudden state, that it should be strictly forbidden for those (allegedly) 100.000 roque IDF reservists, to do exactly, what they had been taught during their entire life, on all possible occasions and at all existing locations, by every single Zionist clan member they had met….

  • Hamas, without qualification or any sense of irony, is described here as a ‘terror group’. In that light, and given the particular information imparted by this eye-opening article, how should the IDF be characterised?

  • There is much in this piece from Haaretz that does not add up,
“1 to 1.4 million Palestinians crowding into the City escaping from the fighting in the rest of the Gaza Strip”. No, they were fleeing the complete destruction of the rest of Gaza Strip, over 65.000 tons of bombs/Missiles, killing tens of thousands of civilians and demolishing every building.
    Another example is this paragraph.
It’s implying that the attacks on Rafah, Jabalya and Central Gaza, were an assassination attempt on the Commander of Hamas’ Rafah Brigade and the Deputy Commander of the ‘terrorist organisation”.
This particular headline reads more like a piece of Propaganda written by a member of Netanyahu’s Propaganda Team.
    “Hamas has the upper hand”.
Is Haaretz worried, that it too may be closed down by Netanyahu like he closed down Al Jazeera?
