State Department bypasses Congress to send Israel more than 20,000 bombs…
JVL Introduction
In a short article for the New York Times, Edward Wong reports the staggering scale of US arms supplies to the Middle East and particularly to Israel.
Back in 2014 we were all shocked by President Obama’s 10-year security assistance Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to Israel which provided $3.8bn per year in military assistance. It was then the largest single pledge of military assistance in US history:
It pales in the face of more recent Biden and Trump transfers, often carried out as emergency measures meaning the President can bypass Congress which otherwise would constitutionally have to give its approval
Biden did so to sell $8.1 billion of munitions to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (as defence against Iran).
In January this year the State Department bypassed Congress to announce it was sending four weapons systems to Israel valued at $6.5 billion total.
And now, a few days into the US’s war on Iran Secretary of State Marco Rubio determined that “an emergency exists that requires the immediate sale” to Israel of 12,000 large bombs that are 1,000 pounds each.
It’s small change this time round –only $660mn.
These “sales” to Israel are funded by the US government and the money is mostly spent buying US-produced armaments. All paid for by the US taxpayer.

The sale had been under informal review in Congress, but the State Department declared an emergency because of the war in Iran.

Paedophile Trump, just wants to prolong the war.
A further aim us to reduce supply if oil to China, which is also part reason for the military actions on Venezuela.
PS As well as once and for all eliminating Iran as a political force in the region, a primary issue is to force the state sell-off of Iran’s oil and gas fields to Exon, BP, Shell, Fina…In short, imperialism intends to retrieve those oil fields. There is also other lucrative state property available for forced privatisation, to imperialism.
Though Iran will keep Israel rather busy, because of which Israel will have to put its plans for Turkey on hold, it could well be that Turkey, in time, will get bombed with its own products. Money talk has some weird syntax.
