No apartheid in Our Name
JVL Introduction
A Global anti apartheid conference was held in South Africa on May 10-12. Glyn Secker, JVL’s National Secretary and member of the Executive of Jews for Justice for Palestinians attended and we are pleased to publish this piece from Palestine Chronicle in which he was interviewed along with further information about the Conference and it solid stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine. It is perhaps unsurprising as well as appropriate that this was held in South Africa that, more than any other country, has worked to hold Israel to account for the destruction of Gaza and to demand that it stop.
In his interview, Glyn stressed: “We have to make it extremely clear that there’s no exceptionalism. Israel doesn’t have the right to be exempt from international moral standards and international law. And on that basis, we will criticise Israel and the perpetrators of these crimes with all the strength that we can muster.”

‘Not in Our Name’ – Jewish Activist Says Israel Violates Jewish, Humanity’s Principles

Jews standing against the oppression and genocide of Palestinians are a hundred times more effective than anyone else in fighting back anti-Semitism.
This is great — especially the way Glyn kept his words really punchy and accessible. Just hearing all the waffle from the Starmer apparatchiks for the past three days about Diane Abbott points the contrast. Orwell knew so much about this!
Brilliant that this event is the start of a new step into organising internationally without losing our grass roots.
We have to keep up the pressure and Jews around the world and JVL have been banging the drum loudly.
