It’s not antisemitic to oppose Israel’s apartheid rule over the Palestinians
JVL Introduction
Katharina von Schnurbein, European Commission’s coordinator on combating antisemitism, wants the UN to adopt the IHRA definition of antisemitism.
Jamie Stern-Weiner clinically dissects her arguments and finds them without substance.
He rightly describes the move to get UN support for the definition as “cynical attempt to silence advocacy on behalf of the Palestinians in the name of anti-racism”, something we must oppose vigorously.

Is anti-Semitism ‘Special Racism?’
Just like Catch-22, Stephen.
“That’s some catch, that Catch-22,” he observed.
“It’s the best there is,” Doc Daneeka agreed.
― Joseph Heller, Catch-22
Jamie puts his finger on the problem when he says:
1. “When ‘Hinduphobia’ is defined to include drawing links between Hinduism and ‘inequity in Indian society,’ or ‘Islamophobia’ is defined to include ‘[d]enying Muslim populations the right to self-determination’ in Kashmir or Palestine, it does not take a rocket scientist to notice the political agendas in play”. Yes, we should also critically scrutinise the APPG definition of Islamophobia which is based on the IHRA template.
2. it is tempting to conclude that never before have so many written so much about something so manifestly absurd.
I an not Jewish although my wife is and both an Israeli and UK citizen. I consider myself as both a friend of Israel – albeit a critical friend – and a friend of Palestine. I recently posted on Facebook a translation of a post from a friend in Israel. I do not know how to get wider coverage for this. Maybe you can advise? A friend in Israel just posted this. I have not shared her name. An updated picture of the situation:
1. I’m a leftist = I’m AIDS.
2. I am a registered member of the Civil Rights Association since 1976 = I am a threat to the security of the country.
2 B. I also donate symbolic but regular sums of money to organizations that threaten the security of the country such as Breaking the Silence, Line for the Worker, Betzelem, Peace Fighters, and a few more such dangerous terrorists.
3. I’m an educated Ashkenazian, love classical music = I’m the gaymonite (although no one listens to me or pays attention to me, and I don’t influence anything).
4. I almost forgot: I’m an atheist (which is worse than secular) = I have no values.
Conclusion: Very soon I am going to destroy the country, and there will be nothing left of it. You have been warned by the minister of national security, and by the one claiming to be crowned the minister of defense
