Israeli soldiers did provide testimonies about the killing of unarmed Palestinians in the 1967 Six Day War but most did not see the light of day. “We turned the Sinai Peninsula into a killing field,” a soldier wrote to his girlfriend, recounting that people were executed even if they were unarmed, and that this happened both to captured soldiers and civilians. “I saw too many murders to cry.”#

This escellent statement from the Institute of Race Relations about the terrible murder of Henry Nowak starts almost in desperation saying: “If only we lived in a country where facts were allowed to speak for themselves ‒ where the path to justice was not littered with the untruths of GB News and the distortions of politicians…”
Haaretz writes: “Israel’s policy of withholding all the customs and other fees it collects on behalf of the Palestinian Authority has created a kind of chain reaction that harms every aspect of Palestinian life in the West Bank. The worst damage has been to the public health system…”
It is an illegal act, genocidal in its effects, and Israeli officials should answer for it in The Hague.
I’d never heard of Sam Harris until now but it turns out he is quite illustrious, the author of five New York Times best sellers, an expert on meditation with a doctorate in neuroscience.
He’s also currently making waves in the States with a post entitled “Why I Won’t Debate Critics of Israel”.
Peter Beinart is undeterred. He provides an entertaining and insightful critique of some of the underlying dogma and false assumptions as well as numerous counter-examples to skewer Harris’s argument.
