Tsedek Chicago have cancelled their Purim celebrations this year in the the face of the terrible attacks on Iran. Some would also argue that Purim celebrates mass killings of the enemies of the Jews in ancient Persia. Certainly for Rabbi Rosen, that Netanyahu has used the story to justify Israel’s attempts to destroy Iran is another reason for cancelling the festivities.

This becomes another form of collective punishment making life unbearable for Palestinians whose access to food and health care is further restricted.
