War and climate change, both fuelled by the West, are the chief drivers of the massive flows of displaced peoples.
Most refugees are hosted in low- and middle-income countries, not in the rich countries who bear most responsibility for the devastation refugees are forced to flee.
Refugee-led organisations are using World Refugee Day to argue that refugees should have more say in finding solutions.
