What can be achieved in one year of government

Remarkable progress has been made in Mexico under the leadership of President Claudia Sheinbaum, who now has an 80% approval rating. She has focused on the needs of people, including building 1.8 million homes! Compare that with what Starmer has (not) achieved, who now has an astonishingly low negative 41% rating!
While we can acknowledge that she was building on improvement, most obviously with poverty reduction under her predecessor, it is still remarkable progress in just one year compared with the mostly backward trajectory in the 15 months since the election of the Starmer’s government in the UK.
This article outlines some of the achievements made and the serious challenges ahead. Reading this can also bring us all hope about what is possible. She also happens to be Jewish and stands strongly for the rights and for justice for the Palestinians. She recently reiterated her call for the end to Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

Perhaps Starmer should follow the example of Claudia Sheinbaum and start doing” mañaneras” daily online conferences in which Sheinbaum engage directly with the people by inviting to seat alongside her, members of her cabinet, journalist and other personalities to debate areas that are important to the average Mexican, in order to help her government formulate political plans to achieve the goals that will benefit the majority of Mexicans.
