Ukrainians stand with Palestinians
JVL Introduction
This comprehensive open letter from prominent Ukrainians expresses solidarity with and understanding of the historical context as well as the present grim reality for Palestinians, especially in Gaza. From a standpoint of justice and a deep understanding of the reality of living under bombardment with limited access to basic needs. They say: “Our solidarity comes from a place of anger at the injustice, and a place of deep pain of knowing the devastating impacts of occupation, shelling of civil infrastructure, and humanitarian blockade from experiences in our homeland.”
A particularly poignant illustration of how the people are overwhelmingly with the Palestinians even while our governments are not.

It’s truly sad that it takes this amount of ongoing human pain for the world to take note; and unfortunately when we do, we too often let politics get in the way, resulting in still not reaching fair, lasting solutions.
I think this article summarizes the overall truth of past actions as well as expresses a deep understanding of the ongoing pain caused by these ongoing injustices. This message should be heard world wide and understood by all; using this conversation as a starting point and a basis upon which to reach consensus and lasting peace in the world.
