UK police seem to be sharing information with Israel – why?

Serious concerns are being raised as documents – specifically an email sent from the Attorney General’s office to the Israeli Deputy Ambassador which provided the contact details for the police and prosecutors involved in an investigation into protests at an arms factory by Palestine Action. Without wanting to speculate too rashly, surely this would only be needed if there was to be some communication, consultation or coordination? We may never know but it certainly raises questions…

This is devastating because I really thought Richard Hermer , the Attorney General was ok — the only moral person in Starmer’s Cabinet, and therefore rumoured to be for the chop. But if his office has been sharing information with the Israeli embassy all along then there is nothing to hope for there. Coupled with US sanctions on so many leading UK human rights lawyers for supporting the ICC prosecutions of Netanyahu and Gallant, and now Yvette Cooper approving new laws that will instruct judges to disallow appeals against deportation on human rights grounds… what have we got left in the way of protections?
