Those calling for a ceasefire are not the enemy within

Aditya Chakrabortty reports on how the British media and political class is preparing for the vicarious thrill of war exactly as it did over Iraq more than twenty years ago.

Those not prepared to join in the hysterical drive to war are having their motives questioned.

Even UN’s António Guterres has been treated appallingly and is shocked by the total misrepresentation of his Gaza comments.

If a liberal democracy is to live, it cannot keep marginalising those it believes hold the wrong views. Our political class needs to wake up.
