A desperate plea from Israelis to Israelis

A number of Israeli citizens have written this heart wrenching letter to all Israelis pleading for some answers from their government, for example a full list of the names of those killed and an investigation into what happened on 7th October. That they felt it necessary to remain anonymous speaks volumes.
They want to understand who was killed on 7th October in Israel and how they were killed or captured. They are deeply concerned that the rhetoric being used and the actions that rhetoric seeks to justify are dangerous.
The writers are unequivocal in their horror at what is being done to the people in Gaza and that this will haunt Israelis for decades. They “demand answers”, they say, “because a genocide is being perpetrated in Gaza in the name of Israeli victims, even though bereaved families are strongly opposed to this vengeful atrocity.”

Editor’s Note: The following statement was written by a group of Israeli citizens who want to remain anonymous for their safety and out of fear of government reprisal.
As Israelis we demand an official commission into the events of October 7. Genocide is being perpetrated in Gaza in the name of Israeli victims and we still do not know who was killed, how they were killed, and who killed them. We demand answers and so should you.

Rumours abound that the fires that burnt people alive at the Kibbutz were caused by Israeli Tank shells there is a radio interview online with a Kibbutz survivor saying this. She also says she ran towards the festival and the Israeli army was in a gun battle with Hamas and many people were caught in the crossfire, this if true will be a political earthquake in Israel that will spread around the world.

Nobody wants to be accused of being a conspiracy theorist, and it can be difficult (and dangerous) to go against the flow. But it is good to read these questions at least being asked.
Obviously, I don’t know the facts of October 7 any more than most people here, but I have heard some of these concerns and am baffled by how little they have been discussed.
Israel publicly questioned the Gazan death figures and the Gaza ministry of health published a list (in what must have been very trying conditions). It’s extraordinary that the better-placed Israeli government can’t do the same. Everyone accepts a figure of 1,400, which might be true, but where’s the evidence?
More concerning are the reports of Israelis being killed by the IDF. I shared these stories with a fellow journalist, who was sceptical because they haven’t been widely published in the mainstream media – but why not? What are the media afraid of?
Were post-mortems carried out on the October 7 victims? If so, it should be known if many were killed by IDF bullets and tank shells. Is this being covered up?
Finally, the stories of of rapes, beheadings and mutilations that are still being circulated. I’m quite prepared to believe these happened – IF there is evidence. Is there any?
