The General’s Plan to end this Hell On Earth

JVL Introduction

The General’s Plan is being implemented before the eyes of the world; the treatment of Palestinians during these forced evacuations from northern Gaza  is truly terrible and terrifying as this article and this short Sky News video video show.  Meanwhile UNWRA has today reported that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is now critical , where only 30 trucks of aid are entering daily — just 6% of the pre-war supply levels and now need is obviously even greater. The reduction has left more than  2 million face severe shortages of essential resources and are at risk of starvation.

The call for more humanitarian aid is crucial but it must come with a ceasefire and an end to arms sales to Israel.

The General's Plan in Jabalia is Israel's endgame in Gaza: Nakba

History is repeating itself in northern Gaza. 76 years later, the ‘General’s Plan’ leaves Gazans with a choice: starve or be slaughtered, says Hamza Yusuf.

  • “Not that Israeli soldiers … needed invitations … “I’m bored so I shoot” and “shoot first and ask questions later” were popular sentiments expressed by Israeli soldiers in Gaza, documented in July, as they gloated about leaving Palestinian corpses in the street, flattening buildings and setting homes ablaze.”

I think the IDF as an organisation will only change its “rules of engagement” and culture when law courts outside Israel successfully prosecute (in absentia if necessary) large numbers of IDF soldiers for war crimes. When senior officers don’t take reasonable steps to stop their juniors from carrying out war crimes they too are liable for prosecution.

Some mid to senior level individuals within the IDF are already worrying about these potential legal consequences. They’re more likely to get a wider hearing inside Israel when prosecutions actually begin in the Dutch and Belgian courts. So far progress has been horribly slow.

In some ways it doesn’t seem “fair” to prosecute the mostly young IDF soldiery for crimes they might not have carried out if their seniors had had (and had enforced) more respect for international humanitarian law. Sadly that might be the only means there now is for stopping the IDF and Israeli government from committing future crimes.

  • It is so obvious that the terrorist state of Israel is carrying out a genocide of the indigenous people whose land it has occupied in its illegal colonialism

Our disingenuous, nay dishonest, government pretends otherwise and as if inanely blathers about pretend solutions which all know to be impractical and impossible and which everyone knows will never happen.

  • “Times of Israel” (today) ran a frank article today explaining how Israel’s attacks on Gaza, the ICJ rulings and the international response to these are combining to stop financial investment in Israel and to increase the price of what’s available.

The Palestinians are starving in their hundreds of thousands because the political leaders of the USA and EU haven’t used their powers to stop a whole year of genocidal acts by Israel. PLEASE let the money markets act more decisively and faster than the politicians and law courts have done.

    The key quotes:-

“Reuters has reported that Israel’s investor base has narrowed since it entered Gaza last year … and it is feeling the effects of rising borrowing costs.”

“Foreign direct investment into Israel fell by 29 percent in 2023 to its lowest since 2016, UN Trade and Development data shows.”

“While UNCTAD 2024 figures are not available, credit rating agencies have flagged the war’s unpredictable impact on investment in Israel as a concern.”
