Every Sunday Israeli online magazine, +972 publishes a round up of key articles and we wanted to share the latest here. Always offering a healthily critical look at what is happening within Israeli society as well as what Israel is perpetrating against Palestinians. AS well as a piece o Israel’s clamping down on solidarity in the West Bank, there is one that explores the the role of the US government and the even greater worry about a Trump Presidency; on this Presidential election day this is essential reading.
And, of course there is more about the terrible ethnic cleansing in northern Gaza. After more than a year of horror, when one might think it could not get worse, it does. As it says here: “debates over the details of the so-called ‘Generals’ Plan’ distract from the true brutality of Israel’s latest operation — one that drops the veneer of humanitarian considerations, killing and expelling Palestinian residents and laying the groundwork for settlements.”

Hi JVL. Off topic I know, but of a piece with media coverage of Israel/Palestine.
On R4’s Media Show today, there was an in-depth interview with James Harding of Tortoise Media (Late of the FT, Times and BBC) where he said that he was pulling together a consortium of US interests and Gary Lubner to buy The Observer.
Given that the number of UK media organs prepared to provide properly balanced coverage of the current situation in the ME are becoming vanishingly small (the Guardian under Viner is increasingly timid), what are the views on this development?
