Arwa Mahdawi highlights further examples of double standards. American model Gigi Hadad said she would donate earnings “to aid those suffering from the war in Ukraine, as well as continuing to support those experiencing the same in Palestine”. but Vogue removed the reference to Palestine after being accused of furthering antisemitism! Surely human rights are indivisible; you do not help people in Ukraine by denying support to people in Palestine or Saudi Arabia or any other of the far too many places where rights are violated or denied.

Like Gigi Hadid, my dad is a Palestinian refugee, and I’ve been harassed for suggesting Palestinians deserve human rights.
