Met Police reopens investigation into Britons in the IDF

In February Declassified reported that Over 2,000 Britons served for Israel amid Gaza genocide. London’s police began investigating allegations of war crimes committed by ten of them last year but earlier this year decided not to continue.
But something has changed and “the Metropolitan Police Service has reversed its decision to close a war crimes probe into UK nationals who fought for Israel amid the Gaza genocide” This is, however, only into four individuals out of the 2,000 known to have fought in Gaza since October 2023.
Nonetheless, this reversal of the earlier decision is welcomed by human rights lawyers and organisations. It took tenacity, especially of British-Palestinian human rights campaigner Lubna Speitan, who argued for a judicial review of what the Met police had (not) done; her lawyers said that “the Met had wrongly applied its own policy and failed to take into account relevant considerations such as the full range of evidential pathways available for an investigation.”

Very, very good news! It always seemed that what was lacking in the UK and Europe was the political will to investigate, not the evidence.
There are so many different investigations across the world into the alleged war crimes of Israel, the IDF and the IPS that evidence found against any one individual is very likely to produce useful evidence in a raft of other cases. The “foot soldiers” in these cases will be able to testify to the crimes of those senior to them who ordered their dreadful deeds.
These crimes must be investigated tô the fullest. We don’t want to live amongst Nazi like monsters in our community.
People joining the IDF are volunteering to slaughter, imprison & dehumanise, beat & torture prisoners who are not allowed basic human facilities like toilet use, fresh water food, bedding , legal & medical availability!
They are part of teams who go out & shoot children babies toddlers & teenagers looking for food & water‼️
These UK citizens are wearing IDF uniforms indicating they agree with this Genocide against Palestinians who’s country & homes are being bombed totally & the entire infrastructure is now rubble ❗️They have chosen to show loyality to Israel to annhialate entire Palestinian families & even bury young children alive as the Israelis have been doing❗️What kind of individual is capable of such abhorrent violence having done these atrocities then video themselves laughing❓
Dehumanising others is a psychopathic act to say the least & my heart aches for those families whose only “ crime”according to Israel is being Palestinian in Palestine many of whom are Christians as well as Muslims❗️
Should the UK allow these volunteer murderers return as though nothing has happened❓❓
