Aron Keller, editor of Vashti Magazine, writes for +972 Magazine in Israel, about the Palestinian textbooks affair in Britain, a story we have reported on before.
In essence Pearson publishers rewrote two British school textbooks on Middle East history, in response to accusations of bias from UK Lawyers for Israel and the UK Zionist Federation regarding their Israel-Palestine content
This was despite an independent review which determined there was “no overall evidence of anti-Israel bias”.
Keller puts this affair in the broader context of attempted censorship of curriculum materials in other countries.
There is no shortage of pro-Israel material. But, at a time of growing interest in and concern about Palestinian rights, there is an organised campaign to doctor materials critical of the Zionist record and Israeli policies on the ground.

What is the standard for ‘normality in persons’? Tranquil acceptance of the continuous expansion of settler-colonialism while the flag of the settlers is waved everywhere else? Or vigorous waving of the settler flag, participating in pogrom-marches, as recommended to all Jews by Chief Rabbi Mirvis,
supergluing the doors of Arab shops – and even (don’t say this aloud, or you will be denounced as an anti-semite – BREAKING THEIR GLASS WINDOWS. The latter ‘demonstratrors’ are of course the not the (heavily armed and IDF- protected ) settlers themselves, just their ‘peaceful’ supporters – perhaps a bit tempted by youthful excesses…?
Wasn’t the 12th of July in the 6 co.s of Northern Ireland shocking by comparison?
“Israel is doing her cause no good using these techniques” is going to be heard, and so needless, we are all, or should be ashamed of what our ancestors have done in our name, bearing in mind mostly for their own ends, so lets spill the dirty truth out for the sake of the new generations to come.
The UK has always changed its history in books.
