Islamophobia is rising in the UK and elsewhere. There was a big rise following the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7th 2023 and another following the killing of three girls in Southport in July and the terrifying riots that followed. This article summarises the findings of ‘Tell Mama’, a respected organisation monitoring hate crime against Muslim people.
Their most recent survey indicates that one in three Muslim people in the UK are considering leaving as they feel so unwelcome. Remember when there were reports that Nearly 40 per cent of British Jews would ‘seriously consider’ emigrating if Corbyn became PM (and this was not just reported in the Jewish Chronicle).
We are in Islamopobia Awareness Month but how many people know that? Where is the outcry about how Muslim people are feeling? What measures are being taken to protect and assure Muslim people of their welcome?

One in three British Muslims consider leaving UK due to Islamophobia: report
UK-based Tell MAMA has released a survey showing that more than two-thirds of British Muslims have reported an increase in anti-Muslim hate since July.
