The BBC is defending a Panorama programme which focused on British Jews offended by language that they regard as antisemitic without paying any attention to the true motivation of the masses of people who support justice for Palestinians.

We post below a press release from the European Legal Support Centre (ELSC) and the Public Interest Law Centre (PILC) concerned about the way complaints have been framed by UK Lawyers for Israel “in a way that materially strengthens pressure on recipients engaged in protected expression”.
The allegation is that “that repeated references to the [senior] barristers’ professional status in UKLFI correspondence may have amplified the authority and perceived seriousness of legal threats and allegations directed at individuals and organisations engaged in lawful advocacy, cultural work, education, and public expression relating to Palestine”.
Anti-Zionism is routinely demonised by its critics as meaning one thing: the destruction of Israel.

It is precisely about whether a state controlling the lives of millions of Jews and Palestinians should be organised around permanent ethnic hierarchy or around equal rights.
It’s really as simple as that.
