We condemn Israel’s raid on Birzeit University

Last week Birzeit University in Ramallah, Palestine was invaded by Israeli forces as this report shows and is clear from the video embedded within. This is not a new event and it must not be normalised. The UK’s University and College Union have written to the British Foreign Secretary in which their General Secretary reminds the FS that “In the seventh such raid in two years, Israel besieged the campus with 20 military vehicles and many soldiers, smashing down the front gate and attacking the Palestinian students with not only stun grenades and tear gas but live ammunition. Multiple students are now hospitalised with grave gunshot wounds.” They ask her to hold Israel to account and their letter is posted in full below the New Arab report on the invasion.
