“Unjust, undemocratic and unacceptable” – Apsana Begum’s treatment

JVL Introduction

Labour Hub has reposted Apsana Begum MP’s attack on the Labour Party’s complaints procedure and puts her grotesquely unjust treatment into wider perspective.

It is, as Labour Hub makes clear, all part of a vindictive campaign against the left in the Party, in which women of colour have suffered disproportionately.

  • The abuse is targeted, systemic, and entirely political. It’s part of how Starmer and his supporters operate. They will make life hell for anyone whose politics don’t align with theirs, and do anything and everything to hurt and undermine them. It’s not because the right are insecure, or threatened. It’s because they genuinely see the Left as the enemy.

  • The practice of referring to Blairite/Starmerite neoliberals as a faction should be abandoned.
When you are doing the opposite of what the Party was founded to do and over 100 years stood for, you’re not a faction. When you redistribute to the super-rich from the Labour voting general public and public commons, you are not a faction. When your victims are Labour Party voters, supporters and members you are not a faction. When the policies you are attacking are the achievements of Labour Attlee and Wilson governments, and the Trade Union loyalties of Callahan’s, you are not a faction.
    You are entryists!

  • The re-emerged hierarchical Conservative-continuity ‘Labour Party’ is against freedom of choice in our elections. It is misusing disciplinary procedures, as can be observed in the cases described. The ‘Labour Party’ is basically rotten.
