Refugees Homeless: Sunak’s pledge leaves them sleeping rough
JVL Introduction
Sunak, despite what the claimed, did not meet his pledge to eliminate the backlog of refugee claims. But he encouraged massive inhumanity even so.
This article details the savagery inflicted on people whom Home Office officials, despite the Government’s worst intentions, had decided had a perfect right to be in Britain.
Now no longer asylum seekers but refugees they have been thrown out of their often hideous accommodation long before they have a chance to get a job or claim benefits so they can rent a home of their own.
They are left homeless, often on the streets. note to Braverman, this is not their lifestyle choice.

This is actually happening to someone I know right now. She is a survivor of modern slavery and had been traumatised, attacked and at one pint street homeless. Luckily I was able to find her an experienced solicitor and accommodation, but as soon as her leave to remain was granted the clock started ticking for her removal on 17 January. The Home Office failed to send her BRP permit in time, so the period of notice has been even shorter. The solicitor has stopped replying to any letters or phone calls since the paid-for part of their work is now over. All kinds of conflicting advice has been given about how to get a place to live, but the reality is that she may be driven back into modern slavery because these are the only networks that will provide a roof over her head.
