More proof of media bias against Palestinians

JVL Introduction

Another study has been released showing UK media bias against Palestinians in how it frames the “conflict” in Gaza and dehumanises Palestinians. It is worth noting that on the day this article was published, on the radio 4 lunchtime news, the BBC anchor did not challenge an Israeli spokesperson on the claims that 1200 innocent people were killed on October 7th (some of them were soldiers) nor did she challenge the claims asserted as fact that there were rapes and beheadings, which are fabrications that have been debunked countless times. She also did not challenge the spokesman when he referred to Hamas and Hezbollah as genocidal even though another BBC interviewer challenged the use of the term genocide being used about Israel’s pulverisation of Gaza noting that the Israeli government does not accept that term.

The study looks at coverage on the BBC and Sky News and in the Guardian. “The data-driven research reveals consistent patterns in terminology and narrative structure that shape how Gaza is presented to audiences. These patterns collectively align with perspectives that minimize Israel’s accountability and reinforce the policy positions of its Western allies,”
