Liberty demands review of unlawful arrests and convictions

JVL Introduction

Human rights organisation Liberty has successfully forced the government to drop anti-protest laws brought in by Tory Suella Braverman and is now demanding an urgent review of all arrests and convictions made while they were in operation.

According to this report by Canary, lowering the threshold for police intervention in protests from ‘serious disruption’ to ‘more than a minor disruption’ would increase their involvement by 50%.

Akiko Hart, Liberty Director, said in a statement on June 17, following the latest developments:

Justice now needs to be served for anybody wrongfully arrested or convicted under these laws that should never have existed in the first place, and the Government must urgently review every case.

Liberty just won back our right to protest in the UK

  • Suella Braverman is a right-wing nightmare, and Keir Starmer is only marginally better. He is advised by Mayfair oligarchs and influenced so strongly by Zionist sympathisers that it would not be unreasonable to say they control him in all Middle East policy matters. Putting down Palestinian protests is all-important to the Zionists, and the extreme behaviour of “Just Stop Oil” gave them the opening to clamp down on all protests.
Well done, Liberty, for putting the brakes on.
