Another attempt to smear author Michael Rosen
JVL Introduction
What is it with some people?
Jewish News makes a splash with a virtual non-story, reporting “consternation across social media” about award-winning Michael Rosen being invited to speak at Jewish Book Week.
Jewish Book Week, as one would expect, stood firmly behind its decision to invite Rosen. It now finds itself hassled for not wanting to facilitate a twitter debate on the subject.
And what will Michel Rosen be talking about? His new illustrated children’s story about the Holocaust Please Write Soon: An Unforgettable Story of Two Cousins in World War II.
Our only question is why Jewish News bothered with this non-story. It would seem that anything goes if it keeps antisemitism in the news, even if it as a case of non-existent antisemitism…
Our sympathies go to Michael Rosen and the relentless attempts to pillory him.

Note how the anonymous “establishes” through repetition things like Michael Rosen being “far left”, which is as ludicrous as the antisemitism scam. If all this wasn’t of such huge impact politically we’d laugh.
Pleased that Jewish Book Week had the courage, decency and farsightedness not to be intimidated into “joining the bullies”.
Not sure that the Jewish News deserves further publicity from JVL. It only adds to the AIlgorithm which attracts advertisers.
The UN has now accepted that Israel is an apartheid state. Overwhelmingly, it is recognised throughout the world. Why, then is the Labour leadership burying its head in the sand. The Party is no longer the institution I believed could bring about real change in this country. What is it for?
“I’ve known Jeremy Corbyn for 30 years. He is no antisemite. He has put his neck on the line hundreds of times in opposing racism, antisemitism, far-right fascism and Holocaust denial.”
Absolutely correct. How tragic, however, that Corbyn himself did not defend himself so vigorously as this.
It was the far right who caused the Holocaust. I am horrified the way these right wingers aim at those who have defended them.
time for Jewish News and other blinkered supporters of racial supremacist Zionism to grow up
In response to Dave, I would rather say there is nothing to be ashamed of in being far left. As Michael Rosen himself said in 2013 in his blog: “It’s no secret that for many years I was personally and politically close to the SWP and its forerunner the International Socialists.”
Corbyn is not suspended by the party. He was deprived of the whip by the parliamentary labour party at the personal instigation of Sir Kier Starmer but remains a party member in good standing.
Michael Rosen is such a wonderful writer and wonderful human being… how can ANYONE find him in any way controversial or objectionable?!
Well done to Jewish Book week for defending free speech.
Speakers with differing opinions used to be seen as democratic debate.
Keep up the good work, JVL.
What a ridiculous article.
I’d back Michael Rosen with all my heart, any time. Jewish News doesn’t speak for all Jewish people. Thank you, Jewish Book week for defending your decision. It should never have been questioned.
I applaud JBW for its defence of Freedom of Speech. The vile zionist attacks on Jeremy Corbyn, a lifelong opponent of racism and apartheid, just shows how far zionist extrem ists are prepared to go. Criticism of Israeli government policy are NOT antisemitic, just as criticism of British government policy is not anti-christian. Michael Rosen is right to defend Corbyn against these hateful and untrue accusations of antisemitism.
Tony, Jeremy defended himself and refuted allegations of A/S on numerous occasions, and given that that is the case, why are you dissembling disinformation, disinformation that is obviously concocted and contrived to discredit Jeremy. It is, in effect, a falsehood. He also refuted the wider allegations of the party under his leadership being inundated with anti-semites as a gross exaggeration. Perhaps you recall what happened when he did so in a statement he made the day the EHRC published its fraudulent report?
And THIS was the reaction when he denied and dismissed the accusation that the LP was facing an anti-semitism crisis, this at the point where the anti-democratic forces REALLY kicked off the whole black op A/S smear campaign against Jeremy and the left:
‘Labour in crisis over ‘anti-semitic’ scandal: MPs demand Corbyn gets his ‘head out of the sand’ after Red Ken is SUSPENDED for claiming Hitler backed moving the Jews to Israel…..’
